2008 Pamela Wells Sheffield Award Recipient

Carolyn Brinson Reed, of Birmingham received the 2008 Pamela Wells Sheffield Award for service and commitment to Auburn University. The award will be presented during ceremonies Sept. 20 at the Auburn’s home football game against Louisiana State University.

Reed has shown her love for and commitment to Auburn University and the Auburn family throughout her activities with the university and in the community. She takes particular pride and interest in Auburn students, and is actively involved in student recruitment, particularly at Mountain Brook High School in Birmingham. She has supported her desire for attracting top students to Auburn by her financial support of the Carolyn Brinson Reed Scholarship Endowment for the Arts and Humanities, as well as a recent $1 million real estate gift to the “It Begins at Auburn” campaign. This gift also will support student scholarships.

Reed has supported Auburn student-athletes for many years through her football scholarship and contributions to the Tigers Unlimited Fund.
