“Giving Tuesday” Auburn Style

Who doesn’t love a new holiday tradition? Well a new one is on the rise!

In addition to the holiday money-spending rituals Black Friday and Cyber Monday, TODAY marks the official start to a new holiday ritual in which charities, families, businesses and individuals come together to participate in the giving season: Giving Tuesday.

GivingTuesday.org urges people to “find a way for your family, your community, your company or your organization to join in acts of giving. Tell everyone about what you are doing and why it matters,” and that’s just what we’re doing!

The Auburn family continuously gives back to our faithful alma mater and today we would like to celebrate that. The Auburn Alumni Association, through the Auburn Alumni Association Endowment and the Auburn Club Scholarship program, awarded more than 175 scholarships for the 2012-2013 academic year.

Now it’s your turn to give thanks to Auburn University! We know the perfect way  for you to start participating in this new tradition of generosity Auburn style: Alumni Walk.

Proceeds of every Alumni Walk paver or brick benefits student scholarships!

“Our purchase of pavers in the new Alumni Walk allows us to give back to our alma mater by contributing to the Auburn Alumni Association’s endowment, which will provide scholarship to students for generations to come.” — Steve Boucher ’77 and Lynne Hawkins Boucher ’77

So go ahead. Give the gift that keeps on giving. Buy a brick!
