Black Alumni Stories

Justin Robinson ’16

Born and raised in Mobile, Alabama, Chef Justin Robinson ’16 brings a Cajun kick to the Atlanta, Georgia culinary scene. He is an alumnus of Auburn University, with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences and an alumnus of Mercer University, with his Masters of Public Health.

In college, where the funds were low and the hunger was high, Robinson began his culinary journey with a simple mission in mind: to never go to bed with an empty stomach. In the midst of long, sleepless nights of studying, Robinson paired his creativity with a hot plate to create meals that he shared with his Hall Director and Resident Assistants.

His vibrant dishes, energetic cooking performance and southern hospitality will certainly change your outlook on the art of cooking. In 2017, Robinson participated in Food Network’s Iron Chef Showdown and hosted a segment on healthy eating during the holidays on WTVM News. Most recently, in 2019 Robinson made the Top 80 on Season 10 of Fox’s Master Chef.

As an entrepreneurial chef, Robinson aims to provide an innovative experience, exemplary service and fresh cuisine at your next event. He is available for private dining, family dinners, weddings, baby/bridal showers, meal preparation, demonstrations, and other experiences involving food.

“I pray and ask God every night that He allows me to impact lives, one taste bud at a time.”
