“Today, my alma mater plays my dad’s alma mater. As the former chair of the Auburn University African American Alumni Advisory Council from 1995-1998, I presided over the first two African American Alumni Reunions that saw nearly 300 people in attendance each time, which eventually became Minority Alumni Involvement (MAIN), ‘we’ were the ones that pushed for Auburn to play Alabama A&M and Alabama State and keep the dollars in the state. After a little over 20 years, the dream has finally happened. I salute everyone who was involved at that time. For all you young AU African American Alumni, this is your little known Black History Fact. #WarEagle” – Kelvin Redd, 1990 Auburn University Graduate
