War Eagle! The words heard across a typical game day Saturday on the Plains and for the Auburn faithful are also a daily greeting for those that have shared the amazing experience of Auburn University. I never knew what this meant, or how much it meant to so many! All changed when I was accepted to attend this great university! I am a graduate from the class of 2012 with a Bachelor’s in Animal Science.
Originally from Florida, I had no idea what it meant to be an Auburn Tiger. I took a leap of faith to move away from home and start an experience like no other. I was involved with the Block and Bridle Club, Meat Science Team, Cattlewomen’s Association and the Auburn Women’s Rugby Team. These amazing men and women throughout these organizations, along with the professors in the College of Agriculture have shaped me into the woman I am today.
After graduation I attended another SEC school, the University of Georgia, where I received by Master’s degree in Meat Science. Today I am currently the Senior Meat Scientist at a local beef company.
I wouldn’t be where I am today if I did not have the knowledge and connections obtained from Auburn University. I will forever remain a faithful alumni and I am truly thankful for the opportunity provided to me! I will continue to work hard with a sound mind, in a sound body and a spirit that is not afraid!
