About SAB

The Student Alumni Association Board of Directors, commonly called the Student Alumni Board or the “SAB” for short, is the governing body of the SAA. Members of the board are chosen through a highly selective application and interview process in November of each year. The SAB has proven to be a very diverse group, both in its membership and duties. Members represent virtually every sector of the Auburn student community, a fact that has led to the strength and success of this organization.

SAB members proudly serve Auburn in many capacities. You may have seen SAB members checking people in at the Alumni Hospitality Tent before home football games or working in the Coke truck at our annual events like Block Party and Shrimp Boil. At the other extreme, however, SAB members often serve as hosts at Alumni Association sponsored events. Some members travel with the Auburn Club program to represent the Auburn student body to Alumni across the nation, while others welcome Alumni and friends of Auburn to campus at events like homecoming, club leadership conference, and award ceremonies.

In addition to all of their other responsibilities, SAB members do a great deal of behind the scenes planning. Every SAA event is conceived, planned, and implemented by the SAB, which proves to be a major undertaking of the group.

SAB members must be a member of the SAA, so if you are interested in applying for membership in the SAB, we suggest you join the SAA today and get involved by attending all of our events. SAB selections take place each November.
