What Legacy Will Toomer’s Corner Leave?

The final rolling of the Auburn Oaks at Toomer’s Corner will be taking place this Saturday, April 20, with the trees set to be removed three days later. The corner of College and Magnolia will never be the same, but the legacy that these oaks has left all of us is something that we will carry for the rest of our lives.

Those who have witnessed the rolling of the oaks at Toomer’s Corner, know that it is something that we will be able to take with us wherever we go—both figuratively and literally.

The oak trees at Toomer’s Corner has a special place in all of our hearts, and while some may have elaborate tattoos, and others might write poetry or haikus, one thing is for sure: the oaks will not be soon forgotten. While “Al from Dadeville” may be able to kill our trees, there’s no way he could kill the Auburn spirit.
