Alumni’s brew will be showcased at Ariccia this week

Ariccia Italian Trattoria and Bar located inside The Hotel at Auburn University will be hosting a Craft Beer Dinner on Feb. 21 at 6:00 p.m. The dinner will be featuring menu items prepared with beer from the Oskar Blues Brewery.

Chef Garry Anderson will be creating a four-course meal with each item being prepared with one of Oskar Blues’ six craft beers.

Anderson said events like this are a great way to extend Ariccia’s brand and introduce themselves to another set of customers.“(These events) help for us to keep with the Italian restaurant concept while still allowing us to branch out,” he says. “We expect our regular day-to-days to be there, but this helps us branch out to new customers.”

For full menu listing check out the restaurant’s Facebook event page, or their website. The dinner is $45 and limited seating is available.

Dale and Chris Katechis brewed their first batch of what would later become Oskar Blues in the bathtub of a trailer on Wire Road. They now boast one of the nation’s “best pale ales.” Have you tried the nation’s best ale? Have you been to a craft beer dinner at Ariccia before? Why do you think home brewing has become so popular?
