It was a life changing experience in many respects, but especially in the cultural knowledge that I gained while traveling. Though I usually had at least a friend or two with me when I went to new places, it still can be a little scary going to a whole new country where you don’t know the language. Throughout my time traveling, I met six Auburn women completely randomly, either in my hostel or around cities. It was amazing to feel totally alone one second in Krakow, Poland, and in the next second have a woman come up to me after seeing I was wearing an Auburn shirt to say “War Eagle.” These Auburn women were always quick to give me advice on where to go and laugh with me about the crazy coincidence of meeting across the world.
Studying abroad showed me that no matter where I am in the world, I’ll never be alone. The friendship of Auburn Tigers reach across the world and back! I am so excited to be able to call myself an Auburn alumna come May, and can’t wait to find out where in the world I’ll find my next Auburn friend.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/2″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][image_with_animation image_url=”19304″ alignment=”center” animation=”Fade In” box_shadow=”none” max_width=”100%”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
