William E. Barrick ’68

William E. Barrick ’68  was a first lieutenant in the Army, earning a Bronze Star for Meritorious Service in Vietnam. He began his civilian career as a professor in ornamental horticulture at the University of Florida. He served as the executive vice-president and director of gardens at Callaway Gardens and executive director of Bellingrath Gardens and Home. He is a past recipient of the Arthur Hoyt Scott Horticulture Medal, the Governor’s Tourism Award, the Liberty Hyde Bailey Award, the Auburn College of Agriculture Distinguished Alumni Award, the Service Award from the American Public Garden Association and is in the Alabama Tourism Hall of Fame. Barrick is a Life Member of the Auburn Alumni Association.
