My entire family was alumni and fans of that school that shall not be named across the state. My dad even refused to buy me an Auburn t-shirt as a kid![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/3″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][image_with_animation image_url=”18157″ alignment=”center” animation=”Fade In” box_shadow=”none” max_width=”100%”][/vc_column][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/3″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text]But I knew I was going to Auburn because I was going to be a veterinarian. Fast forward many years later and I had changed my career goals to working with horses. (This was pre-AU’s Equine Sciences option, but I did take Horse Production as a GPA booster!)[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text]I originally went to Providence, R.I. to study Equine Business, but a southern girl at heart, I don’t like snow, so I returned home shortly after enrolling. When I was back in Alabama, I found my mom had applied to UA for me and she informed me that I would start there the next semester. But no! I wanted to go to AU!! So after one semester at UA and spending all my time with my high school friends at Auburn, I transferred to AU in fall of 1999.
Fast forward many more years and career decisions later and I am now a double Auburn alumna with a B.A. in Liberal Arts – English, an M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration, and am currently enrolled in course work towards a Ph.D. in Adult Education.
I also realized a dream of mine in 2013 when I was hired in a full time position at Auburn, and again in August 2016 when I landed my dream job – Academic Advisor for Electrical and Computer Engineering at my beloved alma mater. I’m married to a wonderful Auburn Man and alumnus and we are “living the dream” down here in the Loveliest Village on the Plains (with our horses).[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
