Coming from a small, family-oriented town with a diverse background, I really wanted to find a place that encompassed that feeling. As I narrowed down my school choices… Auburn remained on the list. Upon entering Camp War Eagle, I could not help but to observe the spirit of FAMILY that Auburn carries. At such a young age, I was not fully able to identify my core values but apparently the value of family  was definitely there.

Throughout my time at Auburn, I met several friends that have become family. After graduating from Auburn in 2013, I carried that spirit with me.
I got my Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling at Alabama State University in 2016. The one thing that my professors and cohorts described at our last meeting was how I brought the family values to the program and created a close knit family within it.

I currently work with the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services at Lakeshore in Birmingham Alabama as a Vocational Evaluator. Again, one thing I still carry with me is the spirit of family, whether it be at work with my work family or with my consumers. What I find to be AMAZING is that my Lakeshore office prides itself on being a FAMILY.

As I navigate through this incredible journey called life wherever I am, I can carry this awesome spirit of family with me. I can also thank Auburn for helping me identify and build on my values and for the lifelong friendships I made there.
