Upon entering the gates of the campus, I literally fell in love! Everything about the Auburn campus, felt like home.
I graduated from Auburn University in 1989 with a degree in Microbiology. The education I received from Auburn has taken me to places in my life, I could not have imagined – …even in my wildest dreams! My Auburn experience gave me the confidence to achieve anything in science. Though, I’ve had significant accomplishments in my career, nothing was more rewarding and fulfilling than spending 4 years as an undergraduate at Auburn.
I took my well-rounded education and landed in NYC working for the Food and Drug Administration. Now nearly 30 years later, I am a Mid-Level manager overseeing a Chemistry Branch.
Auburn transformed my life giving me. My experiences there gave me the self-assurance to accomplish anything as a woman in STEM. My Auburn experience shaped me into the person I am today. I now share my rich Auburn experiences with my community and with Girl Scouts so that I can help other young women and encourage to them impart my knowledge of science to them.
In my travels around the world – in Greece, Italy, China and Israel I have on an Auburn shirt, I will always hear a loud “W-A-RRRR E-A-G-L-E” this reaffirms my love to Auburn. WAR EAGLE!
